JOHN's Coffee house & Tavern

Once a gathering place for some of history’s most influential minds, John’s Coffee House was lost to the great fire of Edinburgh in 1824.

CoDE proudly restored its 18th-century charm and Enlightenment spirit, creating a warm and welcoming space where stories are shared and memories are made. For the menu, CoDE is using locally sourced ingredients and partnering with some of Edinburgh’s finest producers.

John's Coffee House & Tavern was completed in February 2025.
