
FIRST CO-LIVING PROPERTY IN EDINBURGH



Set in a small back lane on Rose Street, New Town sits the first hybrid hostel/co-living property in Edinburgh called The Loft. A converted warehouse started as the first pod-hostel in the UK in 2015 and seen some other innovative changes over the years.
The loft
The Loft was previously a warehouse tucked away in the back lane of Rose Street and is now the first hybrid Hostel/Co-Living space in Edinburgh.
The Loft was completed in September 2015.
In February 2026, The Loft opened the first full‑height Japanese capsules in the UK in a new deluxe female‑only 4‑capsule dorm. Located in the penthouse level, this stylish space features an ensuite bathroom and a private roof terrace, offering comfort, privacy and a touch of luxury at The Loft.

















Renovation works
The works to transform this building to a Code property took 6 months. The doors officially opened in September 2015
Pod dorms
A mix of single and double pods are installed at The Loft. The quad rooms have 2 single pods and 1 double pod.
